This statement explains how Maiden Life Försäkrings AB and Maiden General Försäkrings AB (Registration numbers 516406-0468 and 516406-1003 respectively, address Klarabergsviadukten 70, Box 70396, 107 24, Stockholm, Sweden, Sweden, email: dataprotection@maideniis.com) (“Maiden Life and General”), the controller, uses the personal information collected from you. By giving your consent, you are consenting to our use of your information in this way.

We may make changes to this statement so please check from time to time for any updates.
 
Information about you we may use
Your name, date of birth, gender, address and (if applicable) loan details related to the loan taken via your loan provider as well as any changes in the loan details will be processed. In case you claim insurance benefit, information on the grounds for the claim will be processed. In certain circumstances and only where necessary, we may with your consent also use information relating to your physical and mental health, possible criminal acts and criminal conviction information.

We and our partners involved in claims handling process may record the phone calls with you to confirm the content of the discussion and for personnel training purposes to improve the customer service.
 
How we use your information
We use the information to:
  1. provide you with insurance;
  2. determine your entitlement to insurance benefit which is currently done by provision of  details to our partners who administer the processing of any claims under such insurance. For these purposes, they may request further personal information from you in order to process your claim;
  3. price insurance products; and
  4. make audits and perform statistical analysis.
 
Where we gather your information
We collect your information from your loan provider, you, third parties authorised by you and public registers.
 
Sharing your information
For the purposes described above: we may share your personal information with different parts of our organisation.

We may also share your information with our service providers, suppliers, partners, associated organisations and agents to the extent allowed by law or permitted by the data protection authority or with your consent.

We will not transfer your personal information outside the European Economic Area.
 
Looking after your personal information
We securely store all information you provide to us. Once we have received your information, we will use appropriate procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Databases in which your data is saved are protected by firewalls, passwords and other technical safeguards. The databases and their backups are located in locked premises. Manually processed documents containing your personal information are stored in locked premises in which unauthorised access is prevented. We ensure that the information is only given to such individuals that need the access in order to perform their duties.
 
Your rights
You have the right at any time to withdraw your consent for us to hold and handle your personal data relating to your physical and mental health, possible criminal acts and criminal conviction information. In such case we may not be able to determine your entitlement to insurance benefit.
 
You have the right to access information held about you. You have the right to demand correction of an erroneous data.
